This project contains Informational material and an illustrated brochure for an intervention study by the Economics Department of the University of Stellenbosch. The Thula Baba Box is an intervention to increase earlier and frequent visits to antenatal clinics amongst women in low income areas in the Western Cape. Once women have completed the programme, they receive the Thula Box (a sort of a starter-kit for new mothers).
LOGO // The Thula logo is naive and playful and reflects the nurture and tenderness with which mothers care for their babies. Friendly fonts round off the personal nature of the icon.
ILLUSTRATED BROCHURE // The first factor that we had to consider when creating the brochures was an inviting aesthetic and ease of reading. Pastel colours and simple illustrations are non-threatening and encouraging towards new mothers.
